Ruger, the family dog, had traveled with them the whole way.
Since the day he was adopted, Ruger has been a cherished and respected member of the family for almost a decade. Ruger had only recently moved in, and Dylan was still a small toddler.
The two hit it off right away and were kind, kind pals.
Dylan and Ruger grew up together, and Ruger experienced many of the pivotal moments and priceless moments that shaped Dylan into the young man he is today.
Ruger was still a puppy on Dylan’s first day of school, and the two posed for a photo to commemorate the momentous event.
Corie Bliss, Dylan’s mother, came up with the clever idea to replicate the adorable shot from Dylan’s first day of school when Dylan was graduating from high school years later.
The image turned out beautifully, capturing the passage of time in a sweet, compassionate, yet a little melancholic way.
Corie found it hard to look at the pictures side by side, but Dylan was pleased to have a picture that showed Ruger’s importance in his life along with the love and dedication that the two of them shared.
Ruger has been and will continue to be a valued family member. Over the years, he has shared both spectacular and mundane occurrences with the family, leaving them with a plethora of deeply cherished memories.
Sadly, Ruger’s adventure will soon come to an end. After battling the disease for some years, the old dog deserves to lie down and relax.
Ruger’s family would be devastated by his passing, but they are thankful for all the amazing moments and experiences he has contributed to throughout the years.
Right now, they’re maximizing the time they have left. Ruger is still making new memories with his family.
