ometimes animals form the most unlikely friendships, even a dog and a duck can become best friends. I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. If you don’t believe, scroll down to read this post because it will be a perfect proof that fur and feathers can form the best friendship.
Meet Max and Quackers, a husky and a duck who live along a country road in Strout, Minnesota. Max was adopted by Patrick and Kirsten Riley when he was 5 years old. The couple also had another husky named Sasha and the duo quickly became best friends. Sadly, Sasha crossed the rainbow bridge and left Max alone.
Aware that he was hurting, the family decided to adopt Quackers and Max immediately fell in love with him. “He was without any friends, and so Max would sit next to his pen all the time and I think they just kind of bonded that way,” owner Patrick Riley said. “After we let him out, they just never left each other’s side.”
Thankfully, the void of loneliness in Max’s heart that was soon filled by Quackers. Now, the duo does everything together. “They sleep together, they eat together, they drink together, they go for walks together,” Kirsten added. “Everything is together.” Most of the time the pair is hanging out along Highway 28. Their bond is so beautiful, people even stop their cars to appreciate it.
Strout is a small town in Minnesota, so the pair has become well-known in the area. “We see people stopping over there all the time. The traffic gets clogged up over there sometimes because of all the pictures getting taken,” Alisa Godejahn, Max and Quackers’ neighbor, said.
