Too many reports of pets being left in hot automobiles are sent to us each year. Dogs are very susceptible to heat stroke, which can result in suffering and even death. However, far too many owners keep their pets in warm, confined spaces.
The discovery of a husky dog with her lips taped shut in a hot automobile outside a Las Vegas casino last summer was one of the most horrific incidents.
The dog, on the other hand, managed to survive the situation and is currently enjoying her life to the fullest.
On July 20, the Bellagio casino parking lot received a report of a 3-month-old husky puppy locked inside an SUV. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was called to the scene.
The dog’s mouth was taped shut, and the temperature had climbed to 113 degrees. Imagine how terrible that must have been for the husky in such sweltering temperatures—leaving a dog in a car is unpleasant in any weather. Her life was in grave danger.
The dog had been there without air conditioning, food, or water for two hours while the owner was inside playing video games, according to officials.
The LVMPD successfully removed the dog from the car’s sunroof. The dog was found to be unable to breathe and to be salivating, according to bodycam video from the police.
Owner Raul Carbajal, 50, was taken into custody for willful and severe animal abuse.
While the circumstance was terrible, the animal’s life improved quickly. The Las Vegas-based Animal Foundation revealed that the husky, now named Duchess, has been adopted just weeks after she was rescued!
According to the most recent shelter update, Duchess has been living her best life since her rescue.
“She lives with a wonderful family who adores her,” the Animal Foundation wrote on Twitter. “She sneaks into the children’s beds and enjoys hanging out with her new fur siblings.”
Her previous owner was violent and uncaring toward the duchess, but her current family is a world apart. The Duchess of Cambridge traveled the length of the country, including stops in Arizona, California, and Nevada.
Duchess is known to enjoy the cold and never pass up the chance to frolic in the snow after being freed from that scorching hot car.
“Talk about living the good life,” said the Animal Foundation.

We’re happy with how nicely things worked out for Duchess because she was rescued from a difficult environment and now lives in the most ideal new house.
I appreciate all the love you provide this cute puppy.
