Sundae had spent her entire life in a junkyard and a chilly garage.
Country Roads Animal Rescue Society rescued the coonhound/Labrador retriever mix from a dog-hoarding situation in Oklahoma City, and she gave birth to a litter of pups without ever entering a home.
That is, until her foster mother demonstrated the value of a warm bed. Sundae’s face was filled with relief as soon as she lay down to rest.
Sundae felt confident that she was secure.
Mugglequeen, Sundae’s foster mom, wrote on Reddit, “We’ve had her for about a week, and you’d never know she’s never been an indoor dog before.” “She’s entirely toilet trained, incredibly nice, and pretty polite on the inside,” the owner explained.
Mugglequeen named her Sundae because she seemed to match her sweetness and the gorgeous chocolate, vanilla, and caramel tint on her face.
Sundae was suspicious of men at first, but after her foster mother placed a pair of her boyfriend’s shorts on Sundae’s favorite area, the bed, she began to warm up to him.
Sundae is now the nicest little girl, cuddling with her foster mommy whenever she can. “She loves to sleep as close to me as possible in bed,” Mugglequeen said. “I feel she’s just making up for almost eight years of no affection.”
Sundae is finally receiving the medical treatment she deserves after a lengthy period of neglect.
Her veterinarian revealed she had heartworms and needed dental work, but she was otherwise healthy. Sundae’s only responsibility now is to wait for the right family to fall in love with her puppies, which are being cared for by other foster families.
“Her ideal family would have a very relaxed lifestyle and a lot of patience to enable her continue to come out of her shell and acquire confidence,” Mugglequeen explained. “She’ll stay with me till she finds her perfect forever family!”
Hopefully, this lovely mom dog will be adopted by someone soon.
